Graphics Design Intern

For people who’d rather stand out than fit in. Help keep things fun, interesting and profitable, and gain hands-on experience for the real world.

About the Role

We’re looking for a driven, creative and talented design intern. You’ll work closely with our founder and the team to create on-brand designs, social assets and ads for email, display and social, and work with marketing on copy and new ideas.

At SIGNALGRYD we all wear a lot of hats, so you’ll see several roles up close. This is a critical design position: your work will directly drive revenue and customer acquisition, so a craving for innovation and a learn-as-you-go attitude are key.

Degrees, experience and industry knowledge matter less to us than the right attitude. If you’re versatile, adaptable and keen to learn a bit of everything, you’re the person we’re looking for.

How We Work

Being organised matters to us: it gives everyone a voice and keeps us on the same page. We set clear expectations so everyone has the chance to exceed them, prioritise well and switch gears quickly. We encourage everyone to “think like a CEO” when making decisions, and to always put customers first.

Your Responsibilities

A hands-on internship mixing design, brainstorming, content, layout planning and some marketing and admin, so the work stays varied.

  • Providing design support to our founder
  • Bringing the SIGNALGRYD brand to life across paid and organic social and email, consistent with our site, products, packaging and brand voice
  • Designing and editing creative for email, social, display ads, social ads and video
  • Creating fresh, on-brand content with the team, and testing paid designs across formats
  • Delivering assets to the agreed specs and timelines
  • Setting up a consistent title and editing style for paid and social content
  • Shooting product and lifestyle photography
  • Presenting ideas on product and print design: trend forecasts, moodboards, posters
  • Working with channel owners on creative from briefs, then improving it from feedback
  • Keeping up with advertising and marketing trends, and keeping the asset library organised
  • Brainstorming new marketing channels and campaigns, and helping shape our strategy
  • Some ad-hoc duties when needed

Qualifications

  • Singaporeans or PRs only
  • Confident with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Front-end experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a major plus
  • Strong design and typography skills, with an obsessive eye for detail
  • Able to juggle several projects at once, and you know your JPEGs, PNGs and GIFs
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Your own computer or laptop
  • A great teammate who represents SIGNALGRYD’s positive spirit
  • Happy to embrace change, pivot and adapt on the fly
  • Able to work independently; organised and able to multitask
  • Able to commit for at least 3 months
  • A strong willingness to learn, and an appreciation for open communication

Preferred

  • Strong computer and online research skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace and business apps (we’ll guide you)
  • Able to plan, organise and develop your own schedule

What’s in It for You

  • Monthly allowance of SGD 500–1,000
  • A variety of tasks, so no two weeks feel the same
  • A close-up view of how a small, growing company runs
  • An open-door, open-communication culture where teammates support each other
  • Guidance and supervision throughout: we want to help you, so you can help us

We also work with universities and polytechnics, so you may be able to intern with us as part of your industrial attachment programme.
