How It Works
How a Restaurant Queue Number System Works
Issue a Number
Customers get a queue number when they order, or take a ticket.
Take a Seat
They sit down and watch the display or TV for their number.
Call the Number
When the order is ready, staff key in the number and it flashes on the display.
Customers sit and wait instead of crowding the collection counter.
Where It Works
Where Queue Numbers Work Best
Three common F&B setups, and the system that usually suits each.
Bubble Tea, Coffee & Takeaway
Customers order, step aside and watch for their number. The counter stays clear for the next order.
Hawker Stalls & Food Courts
A number display at the stall tells customers their food is ready, without shouting over the crowd.
Restaurants With a Waitlist
Guests take a ticket, see how many people are ahead, and are called when a table is free.

Queue Number Display or Buzzers?
Both end the shouting. Choose by whether customers can see the counter from their seats.

|---|---|---|---|
| Calling out numbers | Stay within earshot | Loud | Very small counters |
| Restaurant buzzers | Hold a buzzer | Silent until it buzzes | Seating out of sight of the counter |
| Queue number display | Glance at the screen | Quiet | Counters customers can see from their seats |

FAQ
Restaurant Queue Number FAQs
Do customers need a ticket?
Not with Queue Number Calling: staff enter the order number and it flashes on the display. If you’d rather hand out tickets, Ticketed Queue prints them and shows how many people are ahead.
Do customers need an app?
No. They just watch the display for their number, so it works for every customer, with or without a phone.
Can numbers show on our own TV?
TV Queue Number Calling shows numbers alongside your own content on an existing TV. It’s temporarily unavailable, so ask us about alternatives.
How far apart can the keypad and display be?
Up to 400 m, with no cables in between.
How long does setup take?
Usually under 15 minutes. You only need power outlets for the hardware: no wiring, cabling or computer server.
Does it need internet?
No. The system runs on radio frequency, with no Wi-Fi or internet connection required.
Can we add more keypads later?
Yes. New keypads are paired to your system, which you can do yourselves with no software, and we’re happy to help.
How much does a queue number system cost?
Pricing depends on which queue system you choose and how many displays and keypads you need, so we quote for each outlet. Tell us your quantities and we’ll send a quotation within 24 hours.
How long does delivery take?
Usually about one week when the items are in stock, or up to two weeks when they need to be restocked.
