The Basics
What Is a Queue Management System?
A queue management system gives each person a place in the queue and calls them when it’s their turn, using numbers on a display instead of a physical line. Staff call the next number with one press.
Some systems print a ticket that shows how many people are ahead; others are ticketless. SIGNALGRYD systems are plug-and-play hardware, so there’s no software, computer or internet connection to manage.

Queue System vs Queue App
Apps let people join a queue from anywhere. Hardware works for everyone who walks in.
| Method | What people need | Works without internet | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Queue apps and online queues | A smartphone, mobile data and often a sign-up | No | Joining a queue before arriving |
| Queue hardware | Nothing: a number or a ticket | Yes | Walk-ins, visitors without smartphones and places with weak signal |

FAQ
Queue Management System FAQs
What is a queue management system?
Hardware that gives each person a queue number and calls them when it’s their turn, on a display, instead of a physical line.
Do I need Wi-Fi, a computer or wiring?
No. Every system runs wirelessly on its own, with no Wi-Fi, internet, computer servers or cabling required.
Which system should I choose?
Linear Queue suits single-line check-outs, Queue Number Calling suits order collection, and Ticketed Queue suits service areas with several counters. Tell us how you serve and we’ll recommend one.
Do I need a ticket printer?
Only for the Ticketed Queue System. Linear Queue and Queue Number Calling are ticketless.
Can customers see how many people are ahead?
Yes, with the Ticketed Queue System. Each ticket shows the customer’s queue number and how many people are ahead of them.
Can I show queue numbers on my own TV?
The TV Queue Number System does this, alongside your own slideshows, ads or video. It’s temporarily unavailable, so ask us about the best alternative for your space.
How far does the signal reach?
Up to 400 m between the keypads and the display, with no cables in between.
Can we add more counters later?
Yes. New keypads are paired to your system, which you can do yourselves with no software, and we’re happy to help.
How much does a queue management system cost?
Pricing depends on the system and how many counters, keypads and displays you need, so we quote for each setup. Tell us your requirements and we’ll send a quotation within 24 hours.
How long does delivery take?
Usually about one week when the items are in stock, or up to two weeks when they need to be restocked.
